Conversion in Israel

Conversions into Israel

Just like in France, the process of conversion into Israel takes time. Count 2 to 3 years. Why is this so long? Because we test the good faith of the candidate and his major motivation. Note however that this time is rather short compare to another Beth DIN located out of Israel.

How does it occur you?

For the people  already in contact with a rabbi in Israel, have an appointment with him in order to open your file into the Beth DIN. I advise you highly to do it in Bnei Brak because this conversion is worlwidely recognized, but also due you will be sur to acquire all the necessary background and knowledge of judaism as well as on a practical level as philosophical.

However,  a private rabbi can request an amount from 5000 to 12 000 euros.

But it is necessary to take into account his participation for opening your file, doing a regular follow-up of your studies, and to prepare you to the examination.

For the people not having a rabbanic contact , it is possible to continue this course while going directly to Beth DIN and to follow courses with a recommended  rabbanite. This course is generally free. Think nevertheless to provide her with Tsedaka.

During these courses, we will teach you all the laws relating to Shabbat ( Halakhot Shabbas), tsniout, festivals, Kashrut, family purity ( Taharat Mishpaha), troumot and maasser, without frogetting the prayers and their importance.

When they feel that you are ready, a first oral examination in front of an assembly of rabbis will take place.

Further to your reponses and your motivation, a second examination will be in the week which follows. Then one month after approximately, you will have to go to the mikve and for men, to brith.

Then, comes the preparation and the mikve marking your entree into the Israel community . So that this one is valid, 3 rabbis must be present. Obviously, before their entree in the room, the balanit will put a plastic bache to you on the surface of water to hide your body .
